Questions + Answers

Q: Is staging the same as decorating?

A: Staging is NOT Decorating or Design!  Decorating or Design is personalizing and Staging is De-Personalizing and preparing a house for the un-known Buyer.  That is why it's KEY that you hire someone with training specifically on how to prepare a house for sale.

Q: How much does staging cost?

A:  Staging is an INVESTMENT in getting a house sold and the investment in Staging is always less than a price reduction.  Maren always works with your budget and time frame to sell a house.  We like to ask our clients, “Can you afford NOT to Stage?”  When compared with the other costs associated with the sale of purchase of a home, Staging is very reasonable.  In Harringtons Staging, a Staging report detailing what needs to be done to Stage the house for sale is less than the appraisal of Home Inspection reports.

Q: How long does the staging take

A:  Depending on the project size, we usually require a minimum of 2-3 business days to complete the whole process.

Q:  What happens when my staging contract expires?

A:  We will contact you to schedule a pick up of our furnishings and accessories.  Should you need to extend the contact, we will establish a month-to month rental for the continued use of our furnishings and eccessories.

Q: What are the stats for Staged homes vs non-Staged homes?

A: Average Number of Days on the Market:

Non-Staged Homes: 22 Days

Staged Homes: 11 Days (50% less time on market)

Average Increase in Sale Price:

Q: Where does my stuff go?
A:  Depending on your storage capacity, you may have to ask a family or friend to hold your precious items or rent a storage space.

Q: What is your Professional Policy?

A: Our Professional Policies are:

1.

On the day that we Stage or Redesign, we need the property to be completely vacant so that only our Team is on the premise.  This is to make the Staging/Redesign process as quick as possible.  Use this day to meet up with family & friends, hit the park or beach, spend a day at the salon… anything away from the house!  We will call you when we're done.

2.

The process to Staging is different from interior designing.  Although some of the Staging companies with a background in interior design may provide a detailed plan of what each space will look like, that's not the case with how we work. Therefore, we ask for your trust to leave the layout and decorating process solely up to our Team.  All we can guarantee is that you will be satisfied.

3.

Payment must be received at the time of service.
